Members of the New Mexico National Guard and the Guantanamo Bay community lighted 2100 candles in support of a Christmas Eve luminaria display. Troopers deployed to Joint Task Force Guantanamo were able to share in this popular, yearly New Mexico custom. The display lined the road and walkways from Sherman Avenue to the Naval Station Chapel and lasted well into the morning hours of Christmas. The JTF conducts intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination for the protection of detainees and personnel working in JTF Guantanamo facilities and in support of the Global War on Terror. JTF Guantanamo provides support to the Office of Military Commissions, to law enforcement and to war crimes investigations.
