A Stryker vehicle sits outside a battle damage repair facility at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar, Dec. 23. The vehicle, constructed in 2002, is in need of refurbishment after spending most of its "life" in battle. Strykers were first introduced to combat in 2003, but original vehicles were constructed as early as 2001. Due to operational requirements and unit transitions, many missed their regularly scheduled reset dates by two years. In November, discussions between U.S. government and General Dynamics Land Systems officials shifted the focus of the Qatar repair site to refurbishing, or "resetting," worn out Strykers.
