U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Dobbin Miller, pursuit coxswain and instructor with the Special Mission Training Center, Camp Lejeune, N.C., analyzes motor performance prior to maneuver training as the 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement vessel departs from the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard base June 6. Miller is one of eight U.S. Coast Guard instructors providing small boat operations training to coastguardsmen and naval members of ten Caribbean nations as part of Tradewinds 2014, including pursuit, migrant trafficking, and drug interdiction tactics. Tradewinds is a joint, combined, exercise conducted in conjunction with partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
