Staff Sgt. Gabriel O. Bird of the 122nd Air Support Operations Squadron on Camp Beauregard, La., works his shift as a joint terminal attack controller, or liaison between the Army ground commander and Air Force, during his four-month deployment to Afghanistan earlier this year. Bird, a Chalmette, La., native, was selected as an Armed Forces 'Fan of the Game' for the New Orleans Saints and is featured in a card set released in July by Topps.
