Two Alaska Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and aircrews from the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, responded to a request from the Alaska Interagency Command Center to help fight the growing Funny River Wildfire, peaking today at more than 175,000 acres burned. Aircrews were put on state active duty orders for the mission from May 24 to 26 to assist nearly 600 fire-fighters on the ground. (U.S. Air Guard photos by Maj. Candis Olmstead)
