1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division

Sgt. Matthew Gordon, a human intelligence collector assigned to Company A, 1st Special Troops Battalion, performs immediate action on an M240B machine gun after having a simulated malfunction during the 1st Brigade Combat Team's inaugural Non-commissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year Competition held Dec. 14-15 at Forward Operating Base Falcon in southern Baghdad's Rashid District. Gordon, who hails from Grand Rapids, Mich., is part of the 1st BCT, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad. Eight Soldiers competed in the competition to determine the Raider Brigade's best NCO and Soldier.
