Lt. Col. Tim Watson, a native of San Diego and commander of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, awards Sgt. Guillermo Gonzalez , an infantryman from Oxnard, Calif., assigned to Company D, 2nd Bn., 4th Inf. Regt., a U.S. Army Commendation Medal for his service in support of Multi-National Division -- Baghdad, Dec. 13, at Forward Operating Base Falcon, located in the Rashid District of southern Baghdad. Watson presented the Soldiers of Co. D end of tour awards to recognize their dedication and service during the 15-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 2nd "Warrior" Bn. is part of the 10th Mountain Division's 4th Brigade Combat Team, stationed at Fort Polk, La. The Warriors Battalion, currently attached to the 1st BCT, 4th Infantry Division is preparing to redeploy early next month.
