Mahlon Sebring (right), a former paratrooper who served with the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II, takes part in the division’s Memorial Ceremony May 22, 2014, on Fort Bragg, N.C. The ceremony was held during All American Week, the division’s annual celebration of its rich history, its veterans and Gold Star families. Sebring served with the 319th Glider Field Artillery Battalion and joined the division in the midst of its involvement in the war. He served in Berlin when the division was the occupying force and earned its title of America’s Guard of Honor. He was also part of two of the division’s most famous campaigns: the Battle of the Bulge in Holland and the invasion of Normandy, France. (Photo by Staff Sgt. Jason Hull/82nd Airborne Division)
