Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan president, addresses Sailors Thursday, Dec. 11, in the hangar bay of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt. Karzai visited Theodore Roosevelt to gain a better understanding of how the U.S. Navy conducts operations at sea. Theodore Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing 8 are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
