Roy Robinson speaks with Lt. Gen. Richard C. Zilmer about what he experienced 65 years earlier when he landed on Red Beach Two in a Higgins landing craft. Zilmer, the commanding general of the III Marine Expeditionary Force and commander of Marine Corps Bases Japan, travelled to Betio Island, in the Republic of Tarawa, to attend the ceremony commemorating the 65th anniversary of the battle Nov. 20.
