Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., commanding general for Multi-National Division – Baghdad and the 4th Infantry Division, reads a Christmas story during a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the division's headquarters, Dec. 5. Lt. Col. William Geiger, the deputy chief of staff, MND-B and the 4th Inf. Div., dressed as Santa Claus, and his elves: 1st Lt. Stephanie Davison and Sgt. 1st Class Jimmy Garcia, from the secretary general staff, 4th Inf. Div., rallied the holiday cheer with plenty of jolly laughs and jingling of bells, while the band played holiday tunes. Taking time out of their day, Soldiers and their civilian partners sang carols and treated themselves to a treat of traditional holiday egg nog, cookies and apple pie.
