Spc. Sergio Hernandez, a cavalry scout from Clovis, N.M., conducts a radio check on his Manpack system before the start of his next mission. Hernandez is part of Troop C, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, one of several units participating in Network Integration Evaluation 14.2 here from April to May. The exercise allows Soldiers to practice multiple offensive and defensive missions while testing systems under evaluation for acquisition, giving industries additional time to respond and focus on identified capability gaps.
