Col. Sheila Bryant, 10th Regional Support Group commander, presents the army commendation medal to Spc. Shonnie Almeida, a native of McDonough, Ga., and a satellite communications systems operator-maintainer, assigned to 333rd Signal Company, 78th Signal Battalion, for winning Soldier of the Year during USARJ’s Warrior Challenge Competition, April 22-25 on Okinawa, Japan. As the USAR-J SOY, Almeida will attend the U.S. Army Pacific’s Warrior Challenge Competition in Hawaii in June.
