To commemorate National Public Lands Day Hector Renden and Hector Sanchez plant crepe myrtle at Randolph's Heritage Park on Monday. The crepe myrtle and numerous trees were provided through funding by the National Environmental Education Foundation Legacy Funds, which annually awards funds for environmental projects on Department of Defense lands. Phillip Rieger, Randolph Air Force Base natural resources manager, said the base has received the funding for a number of years now. (U.S. Air Force photo/David Terry) (released)
