Eduardo Navarro, a motor transport mechanic with 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, the Marine Corps 2013 Motor Transportation Association’s Mechanic of the Year award during an award ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 30, 2014. The 22-year-old native of El Paso, Texas, was awarded for several of his accomplishments, including seven missions he conducted in Afghanistan. Navarro was in charge of traveling 850 miles through hostile territory and he ensured every Marine and all the gear arrived at their destination.
