In this image released by the Army Reserve's Military Intelligence Readiness Command, former President George H.W. Bush, Master Sgt. Branden Young and Brig. Gen. Gabriel Troiano participate in a re-enlistment ceremony in Houston, Texas, Friday, April 25, 2014. The re-enlistment was for Young, a Virginia-based reservist who successfully requested Bush as the official to witness the ceremony and sign the required documents. Young -- along with his wife Amanda, family, friends and members of his unit -- traveled to Bush's post-presidential office in Houston for the event. Troiano administered the oath as part of the ceremony. Military units use formal re-enlistment ceremonies as a way to recognize ongoing service, as well as to encourage retention.
