Cmdr. Don Gabrielson, commanding officer of the littoral combat ship USS Freedom, explains various functions of the ship's navigation system to Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson during a tour of the ship. Freedom is in Cleveland, Ohio, for a scheduled port visit after being commissioned on Nov. 8 in Milwaukee. Freedom will make other port calls as the ship continues to Naval Amphibious Bass Little Creek, Va.
