Sparks fly as a thermite grenade burns through an old OFAB 100 Soviet bomb on the flightline at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Nov. 7. Personnel and aircraft were evacuated to a safe distance just in case there was a full-sized detonation, but in this case, that proved unnecessary.
