Lt. Jeremy Theis, assistant public works officer for Bachelor Housing at Naval Station Great Lakes, Ill., explains a project to renovate Boorda Hall bachelor housing on base during an interview with a Chicago TV reporter. The .5-million project, funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will improve quality of life for permanent-party Sailors assigned to the base, replacing worn carpeting and room fixtures and repainting interior walls in building 30 of the complex. The project is being conducted by trades workers in Naval Facilities Engineering Command Midwest's Public Works Department Great Lakes and is planned for completion in September 2011.
