Sgt. 1st Class John Jackson, USARCENT G5 operations noncommissioned officer in charge, and Jeremy Brunson, accident victim, share a moment April 11 in his hospital room, in Columbia, S.C. Jackson, was credited with helping to save the lives of Brunson and the driver of a sanitary and storm sewer cleaning truck during an accident April 10, near Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. The accident led to Brunson's leg being amputated below the knee after being crushed by a tree that crashed through the windshield during the accident. Jackson provided medical aid to the both driver and Brunson, potentially saving their lives. This was the first time Brunson had seen Jackson since the accident. (Photo by Maj.
