Sgt. Tom Maness was stationed at Haditha Dam with a reserve unit and Sgt. Maj. Maness was stationed in Fallujah with Combat Logistics Battalion 8. “We flew into Haditha, hit the tarmac and as we deplaned, I saw my son standing at parade rest,” said Sgt. Maj. Maness. “I had no idea my son was going to be there, which made it a fantastic Christmas day for me.”
