Local community and neighborhood leaders from across the Rashid District in southern Baghdad met at the Rashid District Council Hall in the Doura community of the Rashid district to cast their votes, Oct. 22, 2008, determining who would be the next DC chairman and deputy chairman for the beladiyat that is home to 1.6 million Iraqi citizens. The local leaders and neighborhood advisory councils voted current DC leaders, DC Chairman Yaqoub Yosif and DC Deputy Chairman Hashem Mahmood Dahash, to serve another one year-term as the district's top community leaders.
