U.S. Army Sgt. John Farrar, an infantryman from B Company, 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment, scans his surroundings as he provides security during a training scenario at Fort Bragg, N.C., Thursday, Oct. 09, 2008. Farrar, and the Soldiers from his unit, are assigned to Provincial Reconstruction Team Khost, which is made up of service members from all branches of the armed forces. The team is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in the end of October where it will will work with the U.S. State Department as it oversees reconstruction efforts in Khost Province, Afghanistan. The deployment is scheduled to last for a year.
