Mike McNaughton, a Louisiana National Guard Operation Enduring Freedom veteran, presented a rose to Brig. Gen. Sherian G. Cadoria (Ret.), the first black female general in the United States Army and the highest ranking female at the time of her retirement in 1990. The rose was given in appreciation for service to her country, and was presented during the 2008 Louisiana Women Veterans Forum held at the U.S.S. Kidd Veterans Memorial and Museum in Baton Rouge, La., on Oct. 4, 2008.
