A U.S. Army soldier identified by name tape 'BASSETT' interacts with a group of civilians and an Iraqi security forces member in what appears to be a community engagement or patrol scenario. The Iraqi officer is identifiable by his blue digital camouflage uniform bearing an Iraqi flag patch. Several young civilians, some wearing football jerseys including a Barcelona FC shirt, are present in the gathering.

2nd Lt. Greg Bassett, from Notre Dame, Ind., 1st Platoon leader, Troop C, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, and Iraqi national police from the 3rd Battalion, 7th Bde., 2nd NP Div., question local residents, Oct. 11, 2008, about a car bomb attack that occurred the day before, killing several Iraqi citizens on the Abu T'shir Market Street. The Soldiers and NPs patrolled the muhallahs using loudspeakers to inform the community of a temporary curfew and encouraging Iraqi residents to support the local Iraqi security forces to maintain security in the predominately Shia community that is home to an estimated 75,000 Iraqis citizens.
