Iraqi children happily greet U.S. Army Spc. Chris Jackson, a native of Washington, D.C., an infantryman, for A Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, currently attached to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, in an impoverished neighborhood of the Sadr City District of Baghdad, Oct. 13, 2008. The Soldiers were passing out free soccer balls, cookies, candy to the neighborhood children. The neighborhood is in the Soldiers operating area. While Jackson and his fellow Soldiers are well known in the area, Jackson is a favorite of the children.
