A Sailor assigned to Beach Master Unit (BMU) 2 signals a landing craft air cushion for landing on the beach after departing the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) for exercises. Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
