Aviation boatswain's mate (handling) Petty Officer 3rd Class Rodolfo Lopez directs an aircraft towards catapult two during flight operations on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. As an aircraft handler, Lopez is in charge of directing the movement of aircraft with the use of hand and arm signals. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
