    Springfield, Mo., native, Spc. Sophal Peng, a heavy equipment operator for the 955th Engineer Company, 489th Engineer Battalion, based out of Little Rock, Ark., gives instruction on operating a hydraulic excavator to Sgt. Maj. Allen Fritzsching, senior enlisted adviser to the U.S. Army inspector general, during a March 23 visit to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Both are wearing combat helmets and camouflage uniforms.
    A military-painted John Deere excavator is demolishing a small wooden structure at what appears to be a forward operating base or military installation. Personnel in military uniforms are visible observing the demolition operation. Debris from the demolished structure is scattered across the ground, and a larger concrete building under construction is visible in the background.
