A middle-aged man wearing black over-ear headphones is seated at a workstation with multiple computer monitors. A nameplate reading 'CG' is visible, flanked by two military unit insignia patches that appear to be the 1st Cavalry Division patch (black and yellow shield design). First Cavalry Division Commander Brig. Gen. Michael Bills conducts the battle update briefing during a command post exercise March 14, 2014. Command post exercises are training events for command staffs in which they set up a joint operations center and respond to realistic notional events just like they would down range, with observers and advisers helping them fine-tune their tasks, techniques and procedures. The 1st Cav. Div. conducted the exercise to prepare for its upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Ken Scar, 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment)
