Petty Officer 2nd Class Diego Salvador, 27, Miami, Fla. native, directs a E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the "Black Eagles" of Airborne Early Warning Squadron 113, to catapult 2 on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. As an aviation boatswain's mate, Salvador's main responsibility is to direct aircraft on the flight deck and in hangar bays before launch and after recovery. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
