Lieutenant Col. James A. Ryans II thanks Marines, sailors, families and friends who have helped him throughout his tenure with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, during the battalion’s change of command ceremony March 6, 2014 aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. A change of command ceremony symbolizes the transfer of duties from one commander to another. Ryans II relinquished command to Lt. Col. Sean “Rush” Filson, who told his newly appointed troops he looks forward to continuing to uphold the strong legacy of the “Teufelhunden” Battalion.
