Spc. Evgeniy Dietze, a native of Bangor, Maine and a cavalry scout for the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment “Garryowen,” 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, puts on latex gloves at a cafeteria serving station at the Midway Middle School, March 3. Dietze, along with his fellow Garryowen soldiers, were there to help serve the students breakfast, promoting nutritional awareness along with the school faculty during the School Nutritional Association’s weeklong program, National School Breakfast Week. The Garryowen soldiers were not the only ones to support the SNA’s efforts by serving breakfast to children at a local school. In fact, most of the Spartan brigade, and many other subordinate units within the 3rd ID did so as well. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID, Public Affairs noncommissioned officer)
