U.S. sailors aboard dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) watch as an MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter is refueled aboard the ship in Ominato, Japan, March 18, 2011. Tortuga transported more than 90 Japan Ground Self-Defense Force vehicles from Tomakomai Ko to Ominato during Operation Tomodachi. Operation Tomodachi was the name chosen by the Japanese government for the joint humanitarian assistance operation that took place in response to the magnitude 9.0 Tohoku earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck northeastern Japan March 11, 2011.
