Newly commissioned U.S. Marine 2nd Lt. Andrew Collison has his second lieutenant ensigns pinned on by his girlfriend and best friend during his officer commissioning ceremony in Tempe, Ariz., Feb. 20, 2014. Collison, from Prescott, Ariz., graduated from Arizona State University in January with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Collison earned his commission through the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) program and upon completion of The Basic School (TBS) and flight school is aspiring to become a pilot. “There just came a point where I knew this was my path in life, I knew this was my calling,” said Collison.
