Tech. Sgt. Michael Smith connects a grounding wire to the left wing of an AV-8B Harrier as part of a refueling operation Sept. 9, 008. The Harrier landed at Joint Base Balad due to inclement weather conditions over al Asad Air Base in Anbar province. Smith, a tactical aircraft mainenance craftsman with the 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron here, is deployed from the Air National Guard's 110th Fighter Wing at Battle Creek, Mich. The Harrier is deployed from Marine Attack Squadron 311 at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz.
