Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Blake Baumker connects a hook to the corner of a 40-foot refrigerated container to be offloaded during Operation Deep Freeze (ODF) from the MAERSK Illinois. Alongside joint forces, ODF is conducted in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF) mission of scientific research. NCHB 1 has worked with NSF unloading critical supplies for more than 50 years ensuring scientific research can continue forward on the continent.
