    10th Regional Support Group

Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Col. Hideyoshi Fujita, 6th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group commander, explains the significance of the mochi rice pounding ceremony to 10th Regional Support Group Deputy Commander Lt. Col. Ameed Micko and his daughter, Jordan, Dec. 20 at Camp Yaese, Okinawa, Japan. The Japanese traditional ceremony celebrates the beginning of the new year. The white rice signifies a fresh start and stretching the rice relates to longevity meaning a prosperous and healthy life. More than 100 Japanese and American soldiers and family members came together for the bilateral ceremony.
