A community of Sudanese refugees waits to be seen by coalition doctors during a medical engagement in western al-Anbar province, Iraq, Aug. 25, 2008. The Sudanese refugees originally came to Baghdad, Iraq, approximately 20 years ago to pursue a better education and occupation to help their families. According to members of the community, after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003, the people fled to Jordan in fear of violence, only to be forced back to Iraq. Coalition forces and Iraqi security forces make regular visits to the community to assist the refugees until they are relocated to a more established area in the near future.
