All three Airmen completed a new Air Force Reserve seasoning training program prior to deploying. The program allows Airmen to voluntarily remain on active duty for upgrade training, finishing it in three months instead of 14 to 16 months. Dumlao, Gaxiola and Costa, aerial porters with the 332nd Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, are deployed from the 624th Regional Support Group at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. All three Airmen graduated from Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii, in 2004.
