Australian Army engineer Joshua Payne receives a Papua New Guinea flag ball cap from a local child at Port Moresby General Hospital. U.S. Navy Seabees and the Royal Australian Engineering Battalion from 1st Combat Engineer Regiment are providing humanitarian civic assistance to the people of Papua New Guinea as part of Pacific Partnership 2008. The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy is the main platform for Pacific Partnership and has embarked a multinational group of medical and engineering professionals from military and non-governmental organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to several countries within the Pacific region.
