Petty Officer 3rd Class Richard Utley, a Navy augmentee working as an optometric technician embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge, uses a tono pen to test ocular pressure during an eye exam on a Nicaraguan citizen at Juan Comenius High School during a humanitarian assistance project. Kearsarge is deployed as the primary platform for the Caribbean phase of Continuing Promise, an equal-partnership mission between the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
