Builder 3rd Class Morgan Rego assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3's Construction Civic Action Detail (CCAD) in Timor-Leste explains to engineers from the Timor-Leste Defense Force (F-FDTL) how to setup Gabion baskets around the eroding ground beneath the Cameia Rai Hun Primary School's bathroom facility. The wire cages filled with hand-stacked rocks will help prevent the building from collapsing down a ten-foot drop. NMCB 3 is a vital component of the U.S. Maritime Strategy, providing details deployed to Okinawa, Atsugi and Yokosuka, Japan; Chinhae, Republic of Korea; China Lake and San Clemente Island, Calif; Timor-Leste, Tonga, Cambodia and the Republic of the Philippines each independently capable of providing disaster preparation and recovery support, humanitarian assistance and combat operations support.
