Volunteers within the New Bern Community assist patrons complete the United States Department of Agriculture Donated Commodities Application during the Quarterly Food Distribution Program hosted by Religious Community Services Nov. 21. This quarter, more than 45 Marines from Cherry Point volunteered for the program. The Marines volunteered by packaging and distributing approximately 12,000 food items donated by local vendors to eligible participants.
