Raven Master Trainer, Sgt. 1st Class Gary Lain, 218th Leadership Regiment, S.C. Army National Guard, installs a battery in a RQ-11B Raven prior to an instruction flight on Nov. 21, 2013 at McCrady Training Center, Eastover, S.C. The Raven is a small, unmanned aerial system (UAS), that has a wingspan of almost five feet and weighs nearly four pounds that can fly approximately 60 to 90 minutes on a single charge, and is equipped with two video cameras that are capable of giving units on the ground valuable overhead reconnaissance on the battlefield.
