Steelworker Constructionman Joseph W. Griffith, from West Union, Ohio, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11, cleans a steel base plate with a wire brush attached to a grinder. NMCB-11 is a Seabee battalion currently deployed to multiple locations in support of U.S. Africa Command, U.S. European Command, U.S. Central Command and U.S. Pacific Command areas of responsibility. NMCB-11's Detachment Horn of Africa is a Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa unit whose mission includes stabilizing and strengthening security in East Africa through military-to-military engagements with partner nations.
