More than 1,000 Marines with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing participate in a motivational run to commemorate the Marine Corps’ 238th birthday. After the run, Maj. Gen. Robert F. Hedelund, the commanding general of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, talked with the Marines about the Corps' illustrious history. Hedelund reminded the Marines of the courage and tenacity of past generations, especially during the battle of Bougainville, a Marine campaign during World War II. “As we are standing here today, we have inherited the tradition of hard fought victory that stays with us as a part of our ethos,” he said.
