Maine park rangers and Army National Guard soldiers took the opportunity to train on medical evacuation techniques in Baxter State Park on Nov. 2, during “Operation Timberhook.” The training will ensure that both rangers and soldier are prepared in the event of a medical emergency inside the park. During the training, other soldiers from the unit spent the day carrying building supplies that will be used to renovate camping sites in remote locations in the state park.
