U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Mark Chesney, an independent duty corpsman with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Africa 13, demonstrates suture techniques on a large cut of pork and shares best medical practices with Burundi National Defense Force soldiers during a recent exchange in Bujumbura, Burundi. During a six-month rotation, the Marine task force supported U.S. Africa Command and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa by strengthening the capabilities of more than 800 African service members from partner nations throughout East Africa in support of defeating violent extremist organizations.
