Hartsell, commanding general of 4th Marine Division (4th MARDIV), Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES), addresses the Marines of Headquarters and Service Company and Company E, Anti-Terrorism Battalion, 4th MARDIV, MARFORRES, before the deactivation ceremony of Anti-Terrorism Battalion and the activation ceremony of Company E, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, aboard Navy Operations Center, Bessemer, Ala., Sept. 21, 2013. The Anti-Terrorism Battalion was activated within 4th MARDIV in August 2005. Its mission was to provide a supported command with purpose-trained infantry units to protect and defend against terrorist operations, actions, and attacks worldwide.
